This classic New Orleans brunch cocktail is the perfect way to start off a day of revelry.

  • 1 1/2 oz. Brandy or Cognac
  • 3/4 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 barspoon Vanilla Extract (a couple dashes)
  • 3 oz. Whole Milk or Half and Half
  • Freshly-grated nutmeg and/or cinnamon, for garnish


  1. Shake well with ice, then strain into an old-fashioned or small highball glass with a few cubes of fresh ice. Garnish with the spice of your choice.
